About the event:

Prof. Shimon Schocken is professor and founding dean of the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science at IDC Herzliya.
Recently he has published two books: A textbook at MIT Press (
www.idc.ac.il/tecs) and a mountain biking book at Kinneret-Zmora-Bitan (http://www.kinnblog.com/blog/2006/09/post_36.html). 
Both books were based on open source and blog materials, and serve as case studies to how books will be produced in the future. 

The talk will describe some lessons and thoughts about the future of the publishing industry.
